I AM is Enough

Don’t bow under the fear of future failure;
Bow before your Assurance of sufficient grace.

Don’t dwell upon the guilt of past resolved defeat;
Dwell upon the mountaintop of absolute victory through Christ.

Don’t shiver beneath the onslaught of present temptation;
Shelter beneath the shield of your redemption.

I AM tomorrow.
I AM yesterday.
I AM today.

To live in fear of tomorrow is to question I AM.
To live in guilt from yesterday is to question I AM.
To live in cowardice of today is to question I AM.

Don’t do it.

He is our I AM—ongoing; sufficient for past, present, and future all at once.
He is our I AM--unshackled by time.
Failure, sin, and temptations will be, were, and are, but He is I AM.

Exodus 3:14 "And God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM.'"

  1. Amazing post! Wow, a sense of awe fills my heart as I consider the incredible God who is "I AM."

  2. Thank you for that Lauren, i really needed that! :)

  3. Love it! Our God is so awesome!

  4. That is beautiful, Lauren! I love those verses in the Bible when God says "I Am" send shills down my back, to say the very least!

  5. BTW I printed two copies of this and one is hung up on our main bulletin board here on the island - as a wonderful reminder! :)

  6. thank you for this reminder!! I needed it today. Funny because I read Exodus yesterday where God first calls Himself I Am when he tells Moses to tell the Israelites that I Am sent him. He is so mighty and all sufficient! Amen!

    In Christ,

  7. Ruthie--That same sense of awe fills me as well! And thanks for telling me you printed this out--somehow that is really exciting to think that a copy is hanging all the way across the world in Uganda! Very special! (-;
    Kaytra--You're welcome! Isn't it so good to dwell on who God is? It always changes my perspective!
    TC--He is awesome, and this was only about one of His names! (-;
    Lynnae--I agree! I could have listed verse after verse with this because they are all just so good! And then it really makes the passage in John where Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life" all the more poignant!
    Rebecca--You're so welcome! I'm reading Exodus right now, as well! It is so amazing to see God's greatness in that book and realize that He is still the same! Praise the Lord!

  8. Beautiful, and amen! It's all about which eyes you choose to wear...those of the world, or those of eternity. Can you believe how blessed we are to be given the abilbity to see properly? Thank you for this wonderful piece, Lauren.

  9. Encouraging indeed. We are such fickle beings, each day a new thought, attitude, feeling, action - sometimes negative. Yet God is ALWAYS the same! Always dependable, always present, always in control. Thanks for this:)

  10. This was such a blessing to me - thank you so much for sharing!!
