Lauren and Mikaela--identical twins living on opposite coasts--blog about the story of life and their adventures in faith.

{Right Now I Am} messy bedroom
Hearing...the swoosh of air through my vent
Smelling...smoke on my clothes from tonight's bonfire s'more!
Wanting...this shirt
Regretting...not finding music earlier for a duet with Micah.
Wishing...I was with Joel.
Thinking...about Joel
Laughing...with my siblings at how stupid I looked in Fred Meyer this evening as I uttered several sentences in a busy aisle. The strange glances from fellow shoppers caused me to look around and realize that Lauren was not behind me as I had thought, and I was talking out loud to myself.
Recovering...from an energy-sucking cold.
Believing...God is good! wedding!
Dreaming...about seeing Joel
Praying...for the freedom of Meriam Ibrahim
Reading...Love Letters from Cell 92: The Correspondence Between Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Maria von Wedemeyer, 1943-45
Singing..."All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name"
Wearing...a coral swiss dot skirt with a bright teal t-shirt
Preparing... for my students' recital this Friday fun Saturday in Seattle with dear friends this weekend
Trying...the gluten-free diet (a month into it now!)
Questioning...the Scriptural soundness of the popular "I-went-to-heaven-and-came-back" stories open the letter from my library. I knew I should have returned that book sooner!
Loving...Joel dot *grin* I had to make sure it meant what I thought it meant! see the bright side of the 80-plus days that remain between now and the wedding
Working...with darling children and one charming 88 year-old man as students is the best job ever dad (is anyone else guilty of emailing someone in the same house?)
Sewing...nothing. That's the problem--I have a scarf, a dress, and a camisole I should be sewing!
Texting...I hardly text : ) ankle invitations
Turning...certain responsibilities over to others. Delegation is not my strong suit, but I can see it is going to be essential to survive the next few months! summer schedule see Joel
Suffering...from regular headaches but glad to be free of them today
Recognizing...that I am only responsible for my actions--but I am responsible for my actions.
Checking...with wedding photographers
Organizing...the recital, my wedding, my last month of teaching, and where my students will go for lessons after I'm done
Practicing...patience many hours of sleep I'll get tonight
Smiling... about how blessed I am.

Idea taken from Olivia at Fresh Modesty

  1. This post made me smile. :) Yep, I email my family members all the time... and I even chat with them. ;) Ah, the joys of technology and communication in the 21st century! :P

    1. Oh good--I'm glad I'm not the only one! : D

  2. Wow your day looks busier than mine:) I'll keep you in prayer as the details for the wedding start becoming a reality:) So exciting:)

    1. Some days are busier than others! : ) Thanks for your prayers--it IS so exciting!

  3. What a fun post! Sorry about the cold -but glad you're getting over it!
I'm SO excited about your wedding!! Let me know if there is anything you need help with!
God is good all the time, all the time God is good! :D

    1. Thank you Elsie! I refer to the part about me not being good at delegating. : ) But I'm positive that I'll need help, and I'm so grateful to have friends like you willing to pitch in! I'll be taking you up on your offer. : )

  4. Mikaela, I loved this posting idea! I may have to "borrow" it sometime. Phew, though, just reading your list made me tired! May God give you the needed grace and wisdom in the days and months ahead. Am I right to assume the wedding is in Aug. or Sept.? :)

    1. I felt the same way after I saw it on Olivia's blog! Borrow away. ; ) Thank you for your blessing. And you are right--the wedding is set for August 30. : )

  5. This should be a monthly thing that you two do on this blog. I enjoyed it very much. It give a lot of information about your life lately in a short and easy to read format! Two things you can't beat when you're busy. ;)
    Have a lovely day!

  6. Hello Mikaela. so good to know you and your sisters through your profile on the blogger. I am glad to stop by your blog " One Bright corner" and the post on it "Right Now I Am". I am more impressed by your life In the Lord Jesus. Since you are young and the program our church in Mumbai has for the young people as well as adults is what I want to share with you. This is my second time to come across your profile and though I do not remember whether I commented on your blog post but then again I feel like sharing with you so that prayerfully you can think along with your sisters to come on a short/ long tem missions trip to work with us in the slums of Mumbai amongst poorest of poor to share the good news of JESUS CHRIST and give them new hope, life and purpose. I am in the Pastoral ministry for last 35yrs in the great city of Mumbai, India a city with great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the broken hearted. We encourage young people like you as well as adults from the West to come to Mumbai to work with us in the slums of Mumbai during their summer/ Christmas vacation. We would love to have you come with your sisters and friends to work with us. I am sure you will have a life changing experience. Looking forward to hear from you very soon.
