And aren't we rich with good role models? (-:
Samantha--Thank you for sharing! Modesty is an issue that so many Christians ignore, and your testimony is such an encouragement to me to be that good role model. Your honesty in saying you wore those clothes because you got attention for them is quite refreshing, since most people never even think past "everyone else is doing it."
Aimee--You don't know how I rejoiced reading your comment! Praise the Lord! Your decisive action for Him will be blessed and will, I know, touch the lives of many others! God bless!
Lilla--Fabulous! We'll check the tag out! Thank you so much for reading and commenting with your sweet words--I appreciate it!
Elyse--Wow! That would be so exciting and daunting all in one package! But I love your perspective: I want to live so that she will have something worthwhile to respect. As long as you keep yourself following Jesus and keep pointing her to Him, she will have someone to respect!
Kelsey--You're welcome! It's something I've been mulling over a lot lately, so I hoped it would be relevant to you all as well!
France--What a wonderful memory! It goes perfectly with the adorable photograph I found for this post, so now whenever I see the photo I'll think of you! Then my mom would shout at me hey watch the stairs. When I was at her age I had wished before that "I would grow old faster and then now that I am old enough I wished I am only just a young girl before who used to wear my mom heels.Francehttp://ahotgirlspictures.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-545442826180448050.post-27970547951041984392011-03-27T15:17:03.317-07:002011-03-27T15:17:03.317-07:00Oh my goodness, this is such a good reminder for m...Oh my goodness, this is such a good reminder for me Lauren! A fri...This is something close to my heart lately.
A friend of mine from church wrote an essay for school about the person they most admired in their life. This friend picked me. How, exactly, do you put into words how you feel when someone respects you that much? After I read her essay, I wanted to jump up and do something wonderful. I want to live so that she will have something worthwhile to respect. Thank you for posting about this. It's certainly something that must be addressed, because it *is* out there and it *is* important.Elysehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11978719305518193392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-545442826180448050.post-1387383305359734852011-03-26T22:01:07.626-07:002011-03-26T22:01:07.626-07:00Lauren & Michaela- You've been tagged at m...Lauren & Michaela- You've been tagged at my blog! Your writing reminds me that what I wear is definitely part of my witness--and it is time to let these things go.
Thank you
Blessings,
AimeeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-545442826180448050.post-31503323401763825012011-03-25T21:33:07.450-07:002011-03-25T21:33:07.450-07:00I cringe thinking back on some of the things I wor...I cringe thinking back on some of the things I wore as a young teen. All I knew is that I received the attention I wanted for wearing those things. God finally convicted me, and it's something I'm very conscious of, especially now that I'm married.Samanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07886642379376054677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-545442826180448050.post-27699536507393597002011-03-25T12:54:01.835-07:002011-03-25T12:54:01.835-07:00You are so right, Lauren, and it is such a dauntin...You are so right, Lauren, and it is such a daunting knowledge! But by the grace of our Father who gave us the good role models, we will be (hopefully) able to encourage the up-and-coming role models to choose correctly. You're right, though, being purposeful is the key. Great post!SarahJaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15465954030773502482noreply@blogger.com
